Tingxian Li is a professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. He is selected as Fellow of the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM) and one of the Top 2% scientists in the world. Prof. Li published more than 100 papers in international journals, such as Nature Reviews Materials、Nature Nanotechnology、Nature Water、Nature Communications (4), etc. He was granted the First Prize of Shanghai Natural Science Award of China (Rank 1), Young Science & Technology Award of Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China (IESC), Distinguished Young Scholar of NSFC in China, etc. His research interests focus on energy-water-air multidisciplinary nexus, high-density thermal energy storage, solar heating & cooling, and smart thermal management.


High-Power/Energy-Density Thermal Energy Storage and Thermal Management


Energy storage is one of key technologies for realizing the energy transformation from fossil fuels to renewable energy, and has been regarded as an emerging strategic field for energy utilization in China. Thermal energy storage has the distinct advantages of high safe, low cost, and easy scalability. Thermal energy storage, conversion and utilization play an important role in promoting energy transformation and achieving the carbon neutrality. This presentation will reveal the close relation between thermal energy storage and carbon neutrality, synthesis of high-performance thermal storage materials, new methods for thermal conductivity enhancement, new principles of high-power/energy-density thermal energy storage, combined cold & heat energy storage of sorption thermal battery, advanced thermodynamical cycles for integrated energy storage and thermal regulation, smart thermal management, etc.
